CVE-2025-4008: Smartbedded Meteobridge Command Injection Vulnerability

Advisory generated from the CVE record, CISA, Exploit Observer and VEDAS: what it is, whether it is exploited, who is affected, and how to fix and detect it.

Generated by VEDAS. Scores as of 2026-11-01 19:19 UTC. Rebuilt every few hours from cve-scores, CISA KEV and vedas-signatures. How this works and its limits.

What it is

The Meteobridge web interface let meteobridge administrator manage their weather station data collection and administer their meteobridge system through a web application written in CGI shell scripts and C. This web interface exposes an endpoint that is vulnerable to command injection. Remote unauthenticated attackers can gain arbitrary command execution with elevated privileges ( root ) on affected devices.

Description quoted from the CVE record (assigned by ONEKEY, published 2025-05-21).

Weakness: CWE-77 Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in a Command (‘Command Injection’); CWE-306 Missing Authentication for Critical Function

How it can be exploited

Exploitable from an adjacent network with low attack complexity with no special attack requirements needing no privileges and no user interaction. Impact: confidentiality high, integrity high, availability high. CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N

CISA assessment (SSVC): CISA assesses exploitation as active. Automatable: yes. Technical impact: total.
