- Per HIPAA Journal, NorthShore posted a website notice on 14 Oct 2026 saying an unauthorized party had access to parts of its IT environment on 10 and 11 Aug 2026 and “potentially viewed or obtained files”; names, SSNs, treatment information and insurance data are likely involved. The count is not yet confirmed.
- Root cause: not disclosed.
- HIPAA Journal says a ransomware group called Insomnia claimed the attack and later leaked data; NorthShore did not name the group.
