What happened
- The Record and Telegraf report a ransom message with a countdown demanding $400,000 appeared on the website of Ukraine’s largest grocery chain while some online services were taken offline for what ATB called technical maintenance.
- Root cause: not disclosed.
- The DataSuckers group claimed the attack and claimed data on 7.9 million customers (phones, emails, names, addresses, password hashes); The Record says this “could not be independently verified.”
- ATB said “The temporary message displayed on the website did not affect the security of your data” and that no ATB data was stolen; the group published samples on Telegram and said it would sell the database.
