What happened
- Teiss reported that the website of defence PSU AVNL was defaced with Pakistan’s Al Khalid tank and flag and the message “Your armoured factory is now owned by Pakistan, courtesy Pakistan Cyber Force”; AVNL took the site offline to audit. The group also claimed login credentials and about 10 GB of files on over 1,600 MP-IDSA users plus Military Engineer Services data (attacker claim, unconfirmed; MP-IDSA was reported in search results to have denied it, but that denial was not checked against a fetched source).
- Root cause: not disclosed.
- Attacker: Pakistan Cyber Force (self-claimed).
- Response: the Indian Army confirmed coordinated attacks and said “Cybersecurity experts and agencies are actively monitoring cyberspace to detect any additional cyber attacks”; officials said several intrusions were stopped before data was extracted.
